Dog Sitting In Your Home

An Alternative To Putting Your Dog Into Kennels:

With summer holidays now fully upon us,  we are receiving queries every day from owners worried about the option of leaving their dogs in kennels whilst they are away.  Perhaps they have never been in kennels and are nervous about how their pampered pooch will cope in an enclosed and unfamiliar environment, or often they will have tried kennels and returned to find their dog upset or anxious and do not want to repeat the experience.

Here at Sitmyhouse we have two options that provide your dog with the comfort of routine and familiarity. This also leaves reassured owners with peace of mind to enjoy their holidays:

Dog Sitting In Your Home

The first and most popular option is to have one of our CRB checked sitters stay in your home and dog  sit whilst you are away.  We will ensure that all the usual routine is kept to including :walking times and frequency, feeding times and not forgetting bed times and sleeping arrangements. The comfort of knowing your dog or indeed cat is not in an unfamiliar kennel or cattery, means many of our clients book us in advance for the year.

Before booking you have the opportunity to meet the dog sitter to ask any questions you may have and to run through all your requirements. Each dog is different and has differing needs so this enables your sitter to make sure they know your dog inside out in advance of coming to stay. It’s also a great opportunity to see the chemistry between your dog and the sitter, which we are often told is a big relief to owners.

Dog Boarding In A Home Environment

Others prefer not to have someone staying in their own home and instead opt for our dog boarding option, where your dog boards at  the home of one of our trusted, CRB checked pet sitters.

The basis is almost identical as the “in-home” option and again we will ensure that the usual routine is kept to as closely as possible.  Routine is so important to a dog’s well-being.  If they are exercised, fed and loved in the normal way they are used to, they settle very well.

As with the “in-home” option, you will have the opportunity to meet with the dog sitter and again ask any questions you may have. It is also important for owners to see the house where their dog will live (often for many weeks) to make sure it is 100% right for their needs.

So if you don’t want to put your dog into kennels, why not contact us and see if how sitmyhouse can help.
